Somewhere in the middle of passive thoughts

“Why are you a vegetarian?” He asked.

“I don’t like the thought of animals suffering” I responded.

“But animals were created by god to service us” he said softly.

And we ate our meals silently, somewhere in the middle of passive thoughts.
