Everything’s back to normal, just like the way it used to be
I just came out here, with my heart soaring
with thoughts of what goodies I get to explore
while tranquilized by the stripes of the blinds.
A trusting girl, who breathes with her mouth closed.
So many choices right now.
This cell phone in my hand; what enticing thing
I could look at it and mess with it for hours
’till my eyes and brain get tired.
There’s so much to touch and see, outside of this bedroom, into the living room.
I can’t wait ’till I get to go to the basement again and check out all the toys; just as many as I thought there’d be. This is indeed America.
Welcome to my new life; little did I know then.
I’m here now, going back there, 1993, with a cell phone in my hand.
